Oktuba 8-9, Dr. James Grant, Composer-in-Residence with SYMBIOSISDUO (Gail Robertson, euphonium and Dr. Stacy Baker, tuba). 

  •  Monday, Oktuba 8, Dr. James Grant will give a presentation on his choral symphony, Such Was the War, based on WaltWhitman’s poetry written during the American Civil War when Whitman served as a volunteer nurse, Baird Music Hall, room 338, 11:30 a.m.
  • Monday, Oktuba 8, the Horizon Brass Quintet (MSU’s Faculty brass quintet) will read Gail Robertson’s original composition, Tower Guard Tribute, Duncan Recital Hall, 10:20 a.m.
  • Monday, Oktuba 8, Gail Robertson will be in rehearsal with the MSU Tuba/Euphonium Ensembledirecting her original composition, A Eupher’s Dream for 8 euphoniums and providing her insights into composition vs. arranging, Baird Music Hall, room 117, 1:50 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oktuba 9, Dr. James Grant will discuss Composition and Business, Baird Music Hall, room 117, 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oktuba 9, SYMBIOSISDUO willperform Dr. James Grant’s Double Concerto for Euphonium and Tuba with the MSU Symphony Band under the direction of Dr. Richard Miles, Duncan Recital Hall,  Pre-Concert talk with American Composer, Dr. James Grant 7:30 p.m., concert 8:00 p.m.
